WE USED TO WORK IN FINANCE, consuming copious amounts of coffee throughout the day to keep up with the hours. But, we grew tired of the jitters, the crashes, and the gross coffee
THAT’S WHEN WE TURNED TO MATCHA... a longer lasting and healthier caffeine alternative.
LIVING TOGETHER IN LONDON, we wake, bake (muns...) andmake a fresh cup of matcha every morning. To be moreecient, we started to make huge jugs of matcha toconsume throughout the week. This worked as an at-homesolution but didn’t help when we looked for an on-the-go option.
WE TRIED THE FEW MATCHA DRINKS ON THE MARKET, but the powders were grassy & bitter and the drinks were full of additives and sweeteners, and used low-quality matcha.
SO... WE DECIDED TO MAKE OUR OWN!
WE SPENT 6 MONTHS OBSESSIVELY SOURCING the highest
quality organic, ceremonial grade matcha from farms
across Uji, Japan, until we finally met our match. We wanted
to find not just the best tasting and highest quality matcha,
but also sustainable farmers who treat their people and the
THEN WE WORKED WITH AN R&D LAB to figure out how to
make a drink shelf-stable and great tasting with just 3 ingredients. We weren’t going to compromise on the cleanliness nor quality of our product (no weird chemicals allowed!), and we certainly weren’t going to compromise on taste. It needed to be PERFECT.
IN APRIL, 2021, WE LAUNCHED ON KICKSTARTER and
were 100% funded in under a day! We were also selected by Kickstarter as a "Project We Love". Now, with you, we'd like to write the next chapter of the PerfectTed story.
to empower all people to reach their goals, whatever they may be.
to inspire creativity, self-expression and to encourage you to do what makes you happy.
to promote sustainability & transparency every sip of the way, from supply chain to work culture. We stand beside creators and change-makers.
PerfectTed is a proud member of 1% for the Planet. We've committed, amongst other initiatives, to give 1% of our sales to nonprofits protecting our planet.
We created PerfectTed as an outlet for inspiring creativity, positivity, and environmental consciousness. Yet, we recognise the inevitable impact we have on our planet. As humans, we use resources. As companies, we profit from them.
With sustainability at our core, we want to make sure we adequately compensate the farmers, communities, and cultures from which we source. While a small step, it's an important one.
Being “carbon neutral” means offsetting (or counteracting) the carbon emissions we create as a business by investing in projects that absorb or reduce the same amount of carbon from the atmosphere. While this doesn’t mean that we are no longer creating carbon emissions, it does mean that we are working to neutralise their impact on the planet. We hope to offset carbon emissions through tree–planting programs.
Our drinks are packaged in aluminum tins
Our powder tins are made mainly from aluminum (more than 80% of the tin) and are recyclable. We are currently working on an exciting new packaging design that is even more sustainable.
