Blackberry Matcha Latte Recipe

Matcha lovers, we have the next great matcha latte flavour combination: blackberry!

You can currently find these delicious berries growing all around, and all you need to do is grab a few, you can tell they’re ready if they’re plump and come away from the stem easily. Whilst they're all around at the moment you won't find this flavour combo at your local café so it is the perfect recipe to make at home.

Ingredients

Ice

Ceremonial Grade Matcha

250ml Milk of Choice

Maple syrup/honey (optional)

Small handful of fresh/frozen blackberries

Method

You know the drill when it comes to making an iced matcha latte with fruit at this point but I've popped the steps below in case you it is your first time.

1. You can either muddle or blitz your berries before pouring into a tall glass. Sieve your fruit mixture if you don't like seeds and add a bit of sugar, maple syrup or honey if you want.

2. Add your ice - leave 2 inches at the top for you matcha and pour in 200-250ml of your milk of choice.

3. Prepare your matcha by whisking 1.5-5g of matcha powder with water, preferably at 70 °C. If using a traditional chasen pour enough water to cover your matcha powder and then some - you don't want a thick mixture, it should be pouring consistency. If using a blender or electric whisk you'll need at least 50ml of water.

4. Once you have your shot of matcha, pour it over to get that beautiful matcha latte traffic light and enjoy!

topping with ice, milk and matcha, or you can make a syrup with equal parts berries and sugar and strain the seeds.
